The Alabama Education Association is pleased to announce the Be a Champion and Read contest. The goal of the contest is to get your students excited about reading. The challenge is for students to read eight, reading level appropriate books to qualify for one grand prize: tickets to the Iron Bowl with two guests in either the Alabama or Auburn athletic hospitality room and a visit to the field during the pre-game activities. There will be an Alabama and Auburn winner. Students can only choose one team, and enter once. AEA staff and their families are not eligible to win.
**Two participating teachers will win $1,500 for their classroom, and schools with at least 70% student participation will be entered in a drawing to win $5,000 for the school library.
**There's also a $250.00 cash prize which will be awarded to one teacher who has the best decorated bulletin board, door, or classroom promoting the contest.
Contest ends October 31, 2011
